Located at the northern most part of Akumal, Yal-Ku Lagoon is open to the public for a small fee and is known for its great snorkeling. Because it has easy access and is a protected, calm environment, beginning snorkelers just love it.
The lagoon opens up to the Caribbean and changes with the tides. The lagoon is a mixture of fresh and salt water and is quite refreshing after a long day at the beach. It is also a very special ecosystem so please help protect this resource by not wearing sunscreen or feeding the fish.
There are bathrooms at the entrance.
