Make your own arrangements to arrive at Cancun Airport. Transportation will be arranged by us. - I need to know your flight information including terminal arrival. Each person or small group will have a driver waiting out side the terminal with a sign with their name. Don't let anyone inside persuade you into a ride and don't let them touch your luggage or they will expect a tip :-). That is your first travel tip!

For those who are adventurous La Buena Vida throws an annual Halloween Party. Costumes are encouraged and the music and dancing will go into the wee hours of the night. Day of the Dead is a very popular holiday in Mexico when those who have passed on are honored.

In Akumal
Water Fitness – There will be a number of different classes offered with a variety of instructors. Some may include noodling, flipper work outs, shallow and deep water work out, stretching and yoga in the water, classes will be available for everyone at no cost. Locations will vary from the pools, bays and lagoon. Certification classes will be available at an additional cost for instructors.

Beach Walking – Sunrise is the perfect time to stroll on Akumal Bay's sandy white beaches. But you can enjoy a healthy stroll any time day or night.

Kayaking – There are single and double kayaks available for rent.

Yoga Various classes are offered Monday – Saturday – either in the morning or evening upstairs at the arch. The sessions are 1.5 hours and cost $15 a session. Yoga In Akumal

Peaks Gym in Akumal with exercise equipment which has daily and weekly rates available.

Spa Treatments and Massages - There is a Spa located on the Hotel premises that offers a number of spa treatments. In addition, there are a number of private masseuses available.

Scuba Diving – There is a wonderful Dive shop located on the Hotel premises and you can get certified or re-certified if you want to go for a dive. We can also recommend some private dive masters.

Snorkeling – There are 3 wonderful spots to snorkel in Akumal: Akumal Bay, where the Hotel is located, Half Moon Bay and Yal Ku Lagoon. Yal Ku Lagoon charges a $10 entrance fee the other two spots are free. You can bring your own equipment or rent some at the Dive shops.

Bicycling - There are bike rentals available at the entrance. From Akumal Bay to Yal Ku lagoon is approx. 2 miles.

Shopping – There are a number of wonderful shops in Akumal all with in a short stroll of the Hotel.

Dining – There are a number of restaurants to choose from. Some of our favorites are Lolha Beach Bar which serves breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner. Turtle Bay Cafe which has breakfast and lunch during off season. Loncheria which serves local's cuisine at reasonable prices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Karaoke and Salsa Dance Lessons may also be on the list of activities.

CEA Talks and Turtle Walks learn more about this unique environment, fauna and flora. Baby turtles may still be hatching this time of year.


Shopping and Dinner on 5th Avenue,
Playa Del Carmen. We will need to arrange transportation but we highly recommend that the group spend an afternoon and evening shopping and dining on 5th Avenue a Pedestrian street that comes alive in the evening.

Ruins - There are several archaeological sites in the area. Coba , about an hour inland, Muyil, located in Sian Kaan, Tulum about 20 minutes south on the coast. Tulum offers a night show now which has been highly recommended. The entrance to these places are very reasonable but we do recommend you hire a guide.

Eco-Parks – There are several touristy eco-parks in the area, Xel-Ha , which offers an all-inclusive day package for about $75.00, includes entrance into the park, snorkeling equipment, lockers, towels, meals and drinks at all their restaurants and bars. There are extra charges for swimming with the dolphins. Xcaret – is a huge eco-park that has a zoo, aquarium, shows and so much more. It is pricey but you can spend the day and stay and watch the night show. Hidden Worlds , if underground caves and rivers fascinate you this is a spot for you! Sian Kaan Biosphere is one of the largest protected areas and there are a number of wonderful ecological trips and tours. Selva Maya a hike through jungle paths and a chance to explore an underground cave and cenote, lunch can be included.


Trip will include accommodations and transportation to and from the airport. You can choose from the Hotel or Bungalows at Hotel Akumal Caribe, If you sign up by January 31st and pay the 50% deposit by May you will receive a 10% discount. If you organize a group of 10 or more the leader will receive a 30% discount on her room.

Another location that is available for the groups are the town houses at Casa Romero's complex. They are two bedroom town homes, with private entrances into Yal Ku lagoon and roof top, private pools. Additional condos and villas are available for small groups from 2-14 people.

ALL Reservations must be made through Just Imagine Vacations, Inc. We can help you with travel insurance. Package does not include airline transportation. Just Imagine Vacations charges a $50 non-refundable fee for making all the arrangements.

Transportation to and from the airport will run you about $60 a person. People arriving and traveling together may have a reduced rate. For additional transportation - cabs are not cheap to get to other locations but there is a wonderful local transportation, the collectivos which are white vans and the cost under $3 each way to just about anywhere from Playa del Carmen to Tulum. Anything in Akumal is walking distance or you can rent a golf cart and split the cost with others.

Meals will run you about $30 a day. The restaurants in the area vary in prices. You can also buy snacks and some rooms will have kitchenettes in them. The villas and condos would have full kitchens. A meal plan is available for Hotel Akumal Caribe guests, ask us about this plan.

**WaterART Instructor Certification or Personal Training Specialist Certification add $250 USD per course or $450 for both courses 8.0 OR 16.0 hours of CEC workshops add $99.00/8 hours (you can choose your hours to fit your holiday lifestyle)

All Certifications include: manual, 8 hours training, 2 DVD’s, training, exams, diploma & online status when successful, shipping of materials in advance (must register prior to Oct 8th, 2009)

As we get closer to the date we will have a more precise itinerary and we will stay in contact with you from the day you sign up until you leave as to what new plans are in the works and what side trips and activities are being planned. We will consider input from all of our participants.
