This trip is designed for families with all ages. It is during the height of Turtle Season when you will see juveniles swimming and feeding in the bay, mothers nesting and babies hatching. In addition to a great vacation it will also be an eco-trip that will benefit Centro Ecologico Akumal, CEA www.ceakumal.org.
Where:
Akumal, Mexico, located 1 ½ hours south of Cancun airport on the gorgeous Mayan Riviera's Caribbean Coast. Akumal is a Mayan word for Place of the Turtle so it is the perfect locations for a Turtle Trip.

Sunday July 25, 2010: Arrive to Cancun Airport where a van will be waiting to drive you to Akumal.
Akumal Orientation. Time to swim and get acquainted with the area.
Welcome Dinner at LolHa Restaurant
Monday July 26, 2010:
Day: Guided Snorkel tour of Akumal Bay, led by CEA Staff. This will begin with a brief talk that will explain what you will be looking for on your tour.
 Evening: Turtle Talk, at the CEA Center. You will learn a lot of valuable information about Turtles and how to protect them. A Turtle walk will follow. Turtle Walks are limited to 10 people per night so some may have to attend the walk on a different night. The walks will be arranged on a first come bases, so sign up soon. Walks are canceled and we will try and reschedule them if there is rain.
 Tuesday July 27, 2010:
Morning:
Eco-Beach Walk lead by CEA. This early morning walk will be invigorating and a fun way to learn more about this fragile eco-system. It will include a Beach Clean-Up.
Afternoon: Snorkeling at Yal Ku Lagoon.
Evening: free for those not attending a Turtle Walk.
Wednesday July 28, 2010:
All-Day: Xcaret is a Eco-Park that has a wonderful aquarium and hospital for injured turtles. We will tour the facility and have the remainder of the day to enjoy the park.

They have an evening show for those who want to stay. The price of the evening show is extra.
Thursday July 29, 2010:
Picnic Lunch at Xcacel Beach. This is another well-known beach for turtles and is more secluded. Lunches will be provied by Lolha.
Sunset Sail on a Catamaran. Seating is limited so make your reservations soon. If we need to add another Sunset Sail we will.
Evening: free for those not attending a Turtle Walk.
Friday July 30, 2010:
9-6 Xel Ha is another wonderful Eco-Park that has an amazing natural wonder, a floating river and lots of fish for great snorkeling. This is an all-inclusive park.
Evening: free for those not attending a Turtle Walk.

Saturday July 31, 2010:
Akumal Day. This is a day that you can go back to some of your favorite spots in Akumal or explore a few new ones. If you would like to take an additional tour to Tulum, Sian Kaan Biosphere or Cenotes and Caves, we can arrange that at an additional cost.
Evening: Good-bye Dinner at Lolha Restaurant
Sunday August 1, 2010:

Note: Spa Treatments, Babysitting, Diving, snorkel gear and Kid's Club are available at an additional cost.
We will also be organizing several games, crafts and activities during the day at no extra cost; such as, water aerobics, beach games and more. WiFi is available.
