Sea Turtle Adventure August 9 - 15, 2009 |

 The students will work nights with the CEA, Centro Ecologico Akumal's Turtle Protection Program's staff and volunteers. They will go out on watches and look for nesting mothers as well as nests that will be hatching. In addition, they will be taking two small side trips to a Spider Monkey Preserve and to Xcaret to tour their Sea Turtle Hospital and enjoy the day at the park. The camp will also include snorkeling in Akumal's wonderful bays. Please contact us if you would like more information on this trip. Itinerary is subject to change. Sunday August 9 Arrive Cancun Airport. Your driver will be there to meet you and take you to Hotel Akumal Caribe. Where you settle in to your garden bungalow. You will have time to get acquainted with the resort, check out the pool, game room, restaurants and of course Akumal Bay. That evening you will dine at Lol-Ha Beach restaurant.  Morning snorkel in Akumal Bay. Afternoon, visit CEA Center and meet the CEA Staff and volunteers. Evening attend CEA video presentations and oral presentations on how a Turtle Program is run, questions and answers. Tuesday August 11 Mornings are free to sleep in, enjoy the pool or Akumal bay Afternoon go to Yal Ku Lagoon and snorkel Evening join CEA Staff on the turtle patrol Wednesday August 12 Mornings are free to sleep in, enjoy the pool or Akumal bay  Evening join CEA Staff on the turtle patrol Thursday August 13 Mornings are free to sleep in, enjoy the pool or Akumal bay Visit the The Jungle Place, Spider Monkey Reserve Evening join CEA Staff on the turtle patrol Friday August 14 Day is free to enjoy Akumal. Evening join CEA Staff on the turtle patrol Saturday August 15 Depart for Cancun Airport. |
