With workshops and community involvement you will give back as much as you receive! Or as Nanci says Believe to Receive! Believe we can make a difference.

The following is a sample of the itinerary, changes may occur.

Day one - arrive at Cancun Airport and travel to Valladolid. We will dine and spend the night at Meson de Marquez, a wonderful old colonial property, located right on the city's main square.

We will spend the afternoon and evening wandering through Valladolid and have a chance to visit a wonderful park with a refreshing cenote.

The peninsula of Yucatan has over 3000 underground rivers and springs. Only 1300 have ever been mapped. A ceneote (suh no tay) is where the ground has fallen into the water and created an opening. Lush jungle and flowers now surround it and a cave is usually below. These were used for sacred rituals and ceremonies as well as bathing and fresh water by the anicent Mayans. Their sacred temples usually were built on or near these sacred cenotes.

Day 2 - We will have a wonderful breakfast at the hotel before heading to Ek Balam ruins. As it is under active reconstruction you will gain a better understanding of the archelogical process. We will then travel to Chichen Itza, one of the new 7 Wonders of the World. We will stay at the exquisite Mayaland Resort and enjoy the Chichen Itza Night Show explaining life and ceremony at these sacred pyramids. Some of the prayers are spoken in the ancient Mayan language.

Day 3 - You will have the option of either taking a horseback riding tour through the jungle to enjoy Chichen Itza by daylight or spend the morning relaxing at the pool or enjoying Spa treatments.

Later that day we will head to Akumal, Place of the Turtles, in the heart of the Maya Riviera. We will be staying right on Akumal's half-moon bay at Hotel Akumal Caribe.

Day 4 - We will start the day with water aerobics and/or Yoga and Nanci's workshop. You will each receive a copy of "True Confessions of a Reluctant Giraffe. 52 Questions to Ask Before You Stick Your Neck Out". This is a challenging private look into your personal Values for Living and an opportunity for journaling. We snorkel in 3 of the best locations, Akumal Bay, Half Moon Bay and Yal Ku Lagoon.

Day 5 - Sian Ka - A van picks us up at the hotel around 8:30 and we drive to Muyil, small ruins still being excavated. The ruins lead us over a lovely path through the jungle for several hours. We end up at the lagoon for snacks. Then we take a boat ride across the lagoon through the canal that was made by the Maya 1,000 years ago, across a second lake and at the mouth of the natural canal we don life jackets and float down the lazy river through calm waters with mangroves on one side and grasses on the other. Heavenly. The boat picks us up and we stop and snorkel in a fresh water cenote. We return to the beach and the hotel in Akumal about 3:30.

Day 6 - We visit the famous Tulum Ruins. There is usually a nice breeze on the water. We can take a dip in the Caribbean Sea from one of the nicest beaches around. Of all the Mayan cities, Tulum has the most spectacular location, perched on a small hill overlooking the coastline, an excellent choice of real estate. After the tour we will head to Zama's for lunch.

Day 7 - We spend the day at Xel-Ha, nature is the top attraction here at Xel-Ha, with creeks, rivers, cenotes, caves, a turtle camp, aviary, nursery and more. There are plenty of water sports to enjoy from scuba and snorkeling to kayaking.

If you are looking for a little more relaxing way to enjoy your day, take a stroll through the jungle paths, visit the cenotes and caves, wander down to the beach and listen to the waves crashing on the rocks or indulge yourself and take full advantage of the spa.

Day 8 - We head to Selva Maya either by van or horseback to an underground cave, with a beautiful cenote and a rope to swing and jump into the water with. This is nature at is most pristine. Lunch is cooked fresh by the Mayan caretakers and is out of this world; fresh tortillas, beans, rice, grilled potatoes, chicken, fresh salsa and guacamole served at picnic tables under a palapa roof in the jungle. The thought of it makes my mouth water.

Day 9 - We participate in a Maya community purification ceremony by a community whose project is to recover and share its ancient traditions and ancient purification rituals. We enjoy a delicious dinner, swim in the fresh water of a sacred cenote and see a rural museum to learn how this people live in harmony with nature. We meet their healer, or Shaman, who guides us through a magical night where we experience an ancient and unique Mayan ritual in order to be reborn as warriors.

Day 10 - We wind up our adventure with a relaxing day in Akumal. Everyone will have a chance to walk on the beach, snorkel, shop or read under a palm tree.

Day 11 - We depart from Cancun airport and home.

Each day we will spend time doing water aerobics, Yoga, community service with Centro Ecologico Akumal, the local school children, libraries and the people who run the free local animal clinic. In addition there will be private time each day for your own rituals and journaling to expand on the workshop run by Nanci. This "Adventure with a Conscience" will truly be a journey into your heart as well as the heart of the Yucatan and its secrets to remember for a lifetime.
