ˇBienvenidos! A seaside welcome to paradise hosted by Janice Walker. Get some sand between your toes while you enjoy drinks and appetizers under the shady palm trees.
Thursday, 4:30 PM
Have no fear. You will not miss your Traditional Thanksgiving Dinner! We have arranged to be seated under the charming thatch palapa at Turtle Bay Café, a wonderful restaurant owned and run by Americans who know what Thanksgiving is all about. We will eat family style, as Thanksgiving is meant to be, and beverages will not be included. We don't want to have to figure out what you guys like to drink with your turkey!
Saturday Evening 5:30 PM
A short stroll down the beach is the
Centro Ecologico Akumal (CEA). CEA's goal is to educate people about the ecological impact we make on the environment. We will transform the Center for an evening of Dinner and Dancing hosted by Jennie and Tim. Local musical entertainment Bandokoro entertain in a most unique way. Trivial Tidbit: The owner of our hotel is also the president of CEA. We love that!
Sunday - Back to Civilization
A Breakfast Buffet will be set up so you don’t have to worry about the logistics of getting food while you are focused on packing and getting to the airport.
Akumal Tips and Facts:
Akumal is an ecologically conscious community. They even have recycling! As this is a rarity in Mexico, We would encourage you to do your best to try. In efforts to preserve the coral reef and the marine life, visitors are asked to use biodegradable sunscreen and biodegradable bug protection. If you cannot find it locally, these are some good links

The temperature in Akumal in November ranges from 71-83 degrees. While these warm temperatures will definitely be welcomed by us all, you may wish to bring a layer. In the evenings, the sea breeze can make 70 feel a little cooler.

All Sortsa Other Stuff - You may want to cruise around Akumal on bicycle or golf car, or you may want to see some of the nearby Mayan ruins, or have an adventure in the Sian Ka'an Biosphere. There is plenty to be found in this magical region of Quintana Roo.
If you really want to experience a particular adventure, please consider advance planning. Keep in mind the holiday weekend is probably a busier time.
